You know what’s fascinating?

Every blog or portfolio starts with something like I’m passionate about.. or I love doing this and that.. — and you know what?

I hate it 🤨

Please don’t be like everyone else. Stand out, but be yourself! 🙃

TL;DR
Take things apart. Understand how they work. Get inspired. Have your own idea. And build something awesome with what you got!

Also: my background is in Interaction Design and User Experience Design 🤓

My Inspiration
If you’re a child of the 90s you probably know Gyro Gearloose. If not, here’s a picture:

Gyro Gearloose

Gyro has always been my inspiration: creating things from nothing, equipped with a weird mind and a package full of crazy ideas.

The Story
I started back in 2002. My computer was crappy and it only ran cheap games. We were playing Hairy Harry, Hamsterldrle and Stronghold.

It was fun and we played them for a while. But it was not enough: we wanted to know how these games work.

So we started going through every single folder and eventually found files we could actually change 🤩 And that’s where we discovered, that it’s way more FUN to “make” our own games..

We imagined there could already be tools to create them, so we looked for game maker engines and found.. RPG Maker 2000 🤓

This is how we started making our own games from stupid ideas.

Get the Motivation
And this is also why I love to create things from scratch and build something people can actually use.

My bachelors degree is in Interaction Design and I did my masters on top in Communication Planning and Design.

And here we are in 2018, where I want to make use of these skills as a UX Designer to create nice experiences and great games 🙂
