I still needed to figure out and fix this incredible framerate drop.
Remember the 15 fps hiccup?
So there was still the issue of the 400.000 vertices that my 3D model had..
I really didn’t want to bother anyone any more about this model so I tried a thousand things myself. Being the Blender pro I am.. 🤪
Attempt #1001:
The test object shows signs of improvement by reducing the number of vertices through simplifying the complex shape.
After finally finding a way to compromise on the shape and some details I had the new modified model, uploaded and let it animate again with Mixamo and eventually imported it in Unity.
It worked! A stable framerate of 58-60 fps.
I was back in the game (lol) 🤫
